Historic Olympic Valley

Olympic Valley is home to the prestigious mountains that played host to the 1960 Winter Olympics, a fact not soon forgotten when you enter the valley, which more than 55 years later still celebrates the Olympic spirit.

As you enter Olympic Valley, you’re first greeted by the two Olympic torches that flank the entryway to the valley. They are always lit, a constant homage to the historic events of 1960. Then Squaw Valley comes into view, and you’ll be struck by the sight of Tram Face, the iconic, perilous, rocky slope that the mountain is known for.

The European-inspired village situated at the base of the mountain is filled with quaint shops and restaurants, perfect for relaxing after a long day on the slopes. Ride the tram up to High Camp in any season, for unparalleled views of the valley and Lake Tahoe. In the summer, ride the bike path that winds through the valley or hike the Shirley Canyon trail. In the winter, hit the world-renowned slopes of KT-22, and then reward your courage by kicking back for an apres-ski drink before heading home to your cozy cabin or condo.
