It’s hard to believe but Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Were back with the local scoop on how to kick off the holiday season at North Lake Tahoe with all the area feasts and festivities!

SPEND THE DAY SKIING OR SNOWBOARDING

Some resorts open their doors to skiers/riders before Thanksgiving Day, weather permitting! That means you can get out for a few turns before feasting with friends and loved ones. With early October snow, lower temps, and another storm over Halloween, things are looking promising for a Thanksgiving Day opening at Palisades Tahoe! Here are the ski resorts that will be open on Thanksgiving (tentative dates based on snow conditions):

THANKSGIVING DINNER AT LAKE TAHOE

There are many options in the Tahoe area for taking the stress of cooking and cleaning out of Thanksgiving yourself! Palisades Tahoe offers a sit-down Thanksgiving dinner with a grand buffet the whole family will love! NORTHERN LIGHTS FESTIVAL

A great way to kick off the holiday season is Incline Village's Northern Lights Festival event! This multi-day schedule of family friendly events includes Deck the Halls Lighting contest, Sip and Shop at Village Center, and Small Business Saturday, which is a way to shop local and support businesses in the North Lake Tahoe community. What a fun way to experience Lake Tahoe all decked out for the holiday season when you're in town for Thanksgiving! 

FESTIVE HISTORIC DOWNTOWN TRUCKEE

If you're staying in the Truckee area head down to Historic Downtown Truckee on Commercial Row and enjoy the shops decked out in festive lights. The Bud Fish Tree Lighting will have already taken place on November 18, but you can always stop by to snap a few holiday photos!
