Ride into adventure with Alpine Meadows Stables in Tahoe City! Family owned and operated since 1967, the Courtney family knows their way around horses and the best riding spots in Lake Tahoe. Their experienced guides and gentle horses provide scenic rides through Tahoe National Forest. Meander through pine forests and Mule Ear meadows on a scenic 1-hr tour, great for first time riders and family groups. Riders must be at least 6 years old and cost is just $45 per rider.
If you’ve ridden before, book a Mountain Ride and spend more time on the trail on this 2-hr ride costing $90 per rider. Half day jaunts through the Western States Trail and panoramic views of Squaw Valley are also available. Half day rides include a minimum of 4 riders and cost $150 per rider. Book a private ride for $80 per hour per person.

Perfect for hot summer days, the Prosser Swim Ride meanders through meadows to Prosser Reservoir where the wranglers teach riders how to untack the horse and swim bareback. This ride is perfect for intermediate riders ages 14 and up and lasts 3 hours with a cost of $225 per rider.
Ride into the sunset on the Summer 2020 Evening Ride! This horseback rides starts on a scenic trail in the afternoon and ends with a beautiful sunset over the Sierra Crest.
