One of the most beloved North Lake Tahoe annual events returns this month after a two year hiatus: The Cushing Crossing! A pinnacle spring event at Palisades Tahoe, Cushing Crossing celebrates the end of the ski season in warm weather attire and costumes galore! Skier/riders skim across Cushing Pond to cap off the ski season – a proverbial toast to a great season and spring/summer alpine fun ahead! Palisades Tahoe closes its slopes for the 2022/23 on Sunday, April 17.

Palisades Pond Skimming

The infamous skimming contest will occur on Saturday, April 16 at 1PM, with five categories of competition: Men’s Ski, Women’s Ski, Men’s Snowboard, Women’s Snowboard and Open. Registration will take place at the KT Deck on Friday, April 15 at 10AM. So even if you’re on the fence about competing or don’t have a costume lined up now, you don’t have to pre-register far ahead of time. Or, come on out and support competitors as they skim successfully across Cushing or take epic spills!

And one of the best parts of all is award winners will not walk away empty handed – win prizes from Yeti, Phunkshun Wear and Dermatone!
